A New Champion Has Been Crowned..

Congrats to Mike Gibson and The Knights on becoming the 2014 EFFL League Champions! The Knights won their last 6 games of the year including a win against the #1 seed Money Team in the Championship Game! I would like to thank everyone for such a great year! This was our biggest year yet and we have 4 new teams coming in next year so its just going to get better! A special thank you to AJ Little for doing a great job as League Ref, Its not an easy job and you handled it great!

Remember we start in August next season so we are only 8 months away from opening day 2015!! Until next season....

 Championship Week is Here!

Well this is it, 10 regular season games and 1 wildcard week in the books and we are down to the final 4 teams. Congrats to all the teams that made it this far, we have some great match ups! At 9 AM The Money Team takes on The Bulldogs and at 10 AM The Knights take on the 2 time defending champs Dem Boyz.

I would also like to say congrats to Tim Schilling for winning his second EFFL MVP award! Congrats also to Josh Thomas of The Knights for winning Offensive Player of the Year, Josh Nine of The Bulldogs for Defensive Player of The Year and Rob Bey of The Money Team for Smack Talk award. Thanks again to all the captains for putting in their votes.

GOOD LUCK BOYS!

It's Playoff Time!

The regular season wrapped up today and congrats to The Knights, they have taken the EFFL by storm in their first season in the league, finishing 7-3 and clinching a first round bye for the first round of the playoffs. Next Sunday the wildcard kicks off at 10 AM when the 2x defending champions Dem Boyz (6-4) take on The Waist Takers (2-8). At 11 AM The Horsemen (4-6) take on The Bulldogs (3-7). Both games should be great!

Captains please send in your yearly award votes, I need them by Wednesday so I have time to make up the Certificates. If you have any questions on the voting process please contact me asap.

Knights Still Alive!!!

Three of the 4 games in Week 9 were decided by 1 point... What did we take away from week 9? The Money Team have clinched the #1 spot in the EFFL Playoffs so congrats to Justin Smith and the rest of the Money Team. The #2 spot is still not decided, Dem Boyz finish the regular season at 6-4 and can still get the #2 spot with a Knights loss in Week 10. The Knights can clinch the #2 spot and first round bye with a win next week against The Horsemen.

One more week left in the regular season and then we are on to the playoffs!! Again please LIKE our Facebook page and help our league continue to grow!

$$$ Smells Like Money $$$

With 2 weeks to go The Money Team is 7-1 and with a win or loss by no more then 1 point they will clinch the #1 overall spot in the EFFL Playoffs. Its not going to be easy because The Knights are on a bit of a roll moving up to 5-3 today and they are the only team who are still in contention for the #1 spot.

Don't forget to check the EFFL Facebook page and make sure you hit the LIKE button. The more Likes we get the bigger reach we have. Right now each post is reaching about 300 people which helps get our info out there as we work to add more teams each year!

3 Weeks to go..

We are headed down the home stretch & The Money Team improved their record to 6-1 today becoming the first team to clinch a first round bye. Dem Boyz have a shot to do the same next week with a win a loss from both The Knights & The Bulldogs. Great match up next Sunday when The Bulldogs take on The Horsemen in a battle for 4th place

Week 6 Results...

4, That was the total point differential for all 3 games in week 6. In the 9 AM game The Waist Takers gave The Money Team all that they could handle, but at the end of the day The Money Team is 5-1 and are in position to make a run for one of the first round byes in the play-offs. Game 2 was another Instant Classic, for the 2nd week in a row The Horsemen had to go into extra time to decide a winner. This weeks opponents were the defending Champion Dem Boyz. This week ended different for the Horsemen as they got out with a 8-7 win in 2OT's. Game 3 was another game you couldn't take your eyes off when The Knights took on The BullDogs. In a back and forth battle it was the BullDogs who escaped with a 8-7 victory and improved to 2-4.

Half Way Home...

Well we are now officially half way through the regular season! There are no new subs allowed and captains need to be sure that all of their players have played in at least 3 games so that everyone is eligible to play in the post season.

If you missed week 5 then you missed out on what could have been the greatest EFFL game in the 3 year history of the league. After 40 minutes of play it wasn't enough to decide who the better team was between The Horsemen (2-3) & The Knights (3-2). After an absolute battle that took 5 over times to decide a winner it was Mike Gibson finding John Czelusniak in the back of the end zone for a 11-10 win for The Knights.

Week 6 game of the week is the 10 AM game when Dem Boyz take their (5-0) record against The Horsemen who are trying to get back to .500 at (2-3). Just for fun I have posted my mid season awards, keep in mind this is just the opinion of the Commissioner.

New Website Layout!

As you can see the layout on the website has been changed, please leave feedback on our Face Book page and let me know what you think! 4 Full weeks in the books and Dem Boyz are still our only unbeaten team. The game of the week for week 5 is going to be The Knights (2-2) vs. The Horsemen (2-2) Rules, Schedules , & standings pages have all been updated.

Reminder - Next week is the last week to add new players to your roster!!

It's Getting Chilly!

After 3 weeks of football the only undefeated team is our defending champions Dem Boyz (formally Wolfpack) Big Thanks to The Knights for adjusting their schedule and playing a double header this week so we can keep things on track. We only have 2 games next week and the week 4 game of the week will be at 10:00 AM when Warriors (1-2) take on Dem Boyz (3-0). Do you know who was the last team to beat Dem Boyz? You guessed it, it was Rich Bradley's Warriors in the last game of the regular season last year. Schedule & Standings have been updated!

On a side note, I would like to thank all the teams this week for the awesome display of sportsmanship in all the games. I was a little worried after last week but we bounced back and I appreciate it.

Update on Mike Daniels who was taken to the hospital in the back of a ambulance in the first half of the Horsemen's 9-2 win over The Warriors has ligament damage and appears he will miss the rest of the season.

Two Weeks In The Books!

Two weeks in the books and we only have 2 undefeated teams left! They happen to play next week at 8 AM for week 4's Game of The Week!  Dem Boyz (2-0) vs. The Money Team (2-0) Schedules have been updated.

We're Baaaacccckkk!!

Eastwood Flag Football is back for the 2014 Season! 3 Teams looked dominate in week 1 and that was Farm Boys, Knights, and the 2x defending champs Dem Boyz (Formally Wolfpack) Looks like we are in store for another great season as EFFL continues to get BIGGER & BETTER!!! Schedules, Standings, & Photo Album have all been updated!

Also the new league schedules are posted! We are pleased to announce that EFFL has brought in AJ Little to take over as the official Referee of the league. 2014 Season Set to Kick off September 21st

Eastwood Flag Football is back for our 3rd season and we are scheduled to begin play Sunday September 21st. There will be a league meeting on Monday August 18th at 7 PM at All In Sports Bar & Grill on Midler Ave. Every player in the league is welcome to come, at the least I would like to have a representative from each team as we will be handing out roster forms, taking suggestions and voting on rule changes so we can give an official copy to our new officials so they have time to study before the season kicks off. Still accepting new teams, I can accept up to 3 more teams for the new season so if you know anyone interested please have them call or text 395-1352. More updates to come after meeting.

Back to Back for The Wolfpack!

1024x1024-2314203.jpg

Congrats to the Wolfpack for their 2nd EFFL Championship in as many years. They get to hold the trophy for another year as they won on Sunday with a 63-35 victory in the Championship game against The Horsemen. It was a game effort from The Horsemen who rallied from 14 down to tie the game at 35 with 5 minutes left but could not pull off the upset. Great job Wolfpack!
